Alan Alexander III - bass, keyboards, walkabout dulcimer, guitar, flute, harmonica, vocals
Alan Alexander III is a composer, producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and playwright. As a performing musician he has toured internationally (US, Europe, the Caribbean and Japan), headlining performances and opening for artists like UB40, Jimmy Cliff, Ziggy Marley, Taj Mahal, Third World and many others. He is perhaps best known as the former lead singer, principle songwriter and producer for the world beat band, Dub Squad. Alan has composed source music and original scores for several film and television productions including: 'Hear No Evil' (20th Century Fox), 'Alien Invaders' (National Endowment for the Arts), 'Stuff' by director Larry Johnson. Alan recently completed the script and score for his 2nd musical, 'Homeless (the musical)' which debuted to full house audiences at the 2017 Fertile Ground Festival of new works for the theater. Professor Susan Peck - piano, keyboards, vocals
Susan Peck is a pianist, singer, composer, lyricist, conductor, accompanist and music teacher. Her early classical training collided with music theatre, cabaret, rock, jazz, and world music to create a love of rhythm and slightly skewed harmonies. She currently resides in New Mexico serving as the Music Director for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Albuquerque . In addition to her live work with ARTB, Susan was a fixture of the Corvallis theatre scene in the 90's, and played keyboards and throat with the Hilltop Big Band, Right Relations Jazz Quintet, The Flow and Crooked Kate. She continues to record with Alexander's Real Time Band.
The Mighty Frankie L - drums, percussion, vocals
Frankie L grew up in France surrounded by the music of the African community there. That experience, combined with classical training, has produced a young and exciting percussionist with a very unique style. Frankie's combination of cymbals and cajon provides the groove to a wide variety of original songs with Alexander's Real Time Band. In addition to ARTB, Frankie has been seen and heard on stage with The Shook Twins and Poeina Suddarth.
The Legendary Whit Draper - guitars, bass
Whit Draper has lived in Portland, Oregon since 1983. From 1989-1993 he played acoustic guitar, arranged music, and wrote songs for regional favorites Back Porch Blues. In 1995 his song Ritzville from Back Porch Blues’ album Back to Basics was featured in the film Lewis and Clark and George starring Rose McGowan. Draper also plays electric guitar and bass guitar and has performed and recorded with such Portland notables as Johnny Ward, Bill Rhoades, Sheila Wilcoxson, Russ Finley, Lauren Sheehan, The Strange Tones, Will Vinton’s Freewill Band and many more. He currently sings plays guitar with his own Jump, Swing outfit, the Sportin' Lifers, When he is not performing with these groups you might get lucky and find him on stage with Alexander's Real Time Band.
